Nanooks Rent a Mule, Beat the Crap Out of It 5-1

To quote Erik Drygas "What the hell was he thinking?" I have no clue.

With 6 minutes remaining in the game, UAA coach Dave Shyiak got a little desperate and pulled Gunderson for an extra skater to help boost an offense that wasn't even close to producing. You'd think if you pulled your goaltender with that much left on the clock, an empty net goal would be inevitable.

I fail to understand his logic for making the call to pull him that early. But, I'm not a coach, he is. Granted, I don't have a 62-126-24 record either.

Tonight, Colton Beck and Kevin Petovello each add a pair of goals. Andy Taranto with a goal and an assist to round out the top 3 performers for the 'Nooks. Brad Gorham with his only career goal tonight for the junior. Tomorrow, the Nanooks will head down to Anchorage at around noon, get a pre-game meal in and bring their mules back out on the ice for another 60 minute ass kicking.

So there's that.

Shyiak bs UAF: 0-3-0 in last 3.

All about recent results. Sure. He won a couple of seasons ago, but what has he done lately?

I will give him all the credit in the world for piecing together what appears to be one of the best seasons in recent history with a bunch of rookies, especially the goaltenders in Gunderson and Kamal. Granted, I think Gunderson is the better of the 2. Needless to say, I wish him no luck today.

I have no clue either, but you know what? Don't care! :-D that empty net goal was the icing on a hilarious cake, and I loved every second!

It seems the Nanooks are the ones who got a serious ass kicking in the second game. Haha

Your student section showed why nobody respects the junior college up north that really has no purpose in 2011. Classless.

By junior college, do you mean the one that actually awards doctorates and employs post-doc fellows and researchers? Back in the 50's, ACC was absorbed into the University system, but to this day is still known for its successes in vocational education. Good thing too, the world needs nurses and dental hygienists. Engineers and scientific research be damned.

That said, I'm not particularly fond of the actions that occurred during the senior send-off. While the spirit was there, the timing was pretty poor.

Donna Donlop, what a crying little bitch. You lost last night in the shoot out,end of story. And if your team had any real fans that gave a shit, maybe they could made some noise at our rink, but no,no fans.Donald could have used the money he begs for on his blog and come to Fairbanks and support the team he loves so much. But his cue ball head was not to be seen, how sad:( I have to laugh,he always has someone to blame when the Seawolves lose. Now he wants to kill Doyle Woody, just because he tells the truth. WOW!! Donald take your meds and relax. :)

Hehe. That got a chuckle.

Let's talk about classless fans, a horse head looking Seawolf mascot taking a Polar Bear stuffed animal beating it with a stick at center ice prior to their pregame introductions. Nanooks fans were just acting out in response to beating a Polar Bear.

UAA wasn't a victim of anything and get off your high horse Anchorage you brought this upon yourselves.

Do I agree with a shootout ... only if it favors my team but I would have preferred a 3rd game myself.
